This mid-19th century French pine grandfather clock features hand faux painted case that resembles burl walnut with detail of florals. The hand painted enamel clock face is marked with the name of the clockmaker, and its city of origin, à Chantonnay, in the region of Loire. Its bronze repousse clock face surround and pendulum are decorated with motifs of prosperity including florals, grape leaves and grapes. An exceptional case clock, circa mid 19thc, with its original movement in working order. Includes weights and key.
